We had a really good time, and thought the trips and guides were great, especially SRL and the turtle island trip.
I personally was impressed with the way Malaysia obviously recognises, values and protects the wonderful natural resources it has.
I was also impressed by your campany's efficiency, and the infrastructure and standard of transport (the boats were fast and not overcrowded,
and all the buses were modern and air-conditioned, so thank you for that.)

My niece and I had a fantastic time and the trip would not have been so great without the company's wonderful guide and drivers.
It was a pleasure to spend the 10 days with Randall, Jaimon and Ramsah.
The time we spent at Sukau was the highlight of the trip. I have been telling all my friends about the tour company and the lodge.
And I certainly hope to visit again some day.
Once again thanks.

Hello Roland,
We just came back from our trip and our heart is still in Malaysia. Thanks a million for the wonderful trip you organized for us.
It is one of the best holidays we spent. Everything was perfect. The different guides we had were so nice.
A special thanks to Haswan, who stayed with us 3 days. He was so kind and patient. We saw so many birds and animals with him.
He is a great guide who knows his work so well. It was so pleasant to be with him. The kids loved him !!
Munir showed us the cave and thanks to him because we saw an orang outang on the way !
To finish at Tabin, Esrail was so patient to make all the safaris with the rain !!!! and we saw leopard cat and gibbons with him!!!
We liked all the things we did. It was quite hard to come back to civilization after !
All the Family enjoyed so much this trip and I am sure we will come back on day.
Thanks again to you and all the staff

Hi Roland,
First of all, we will like to thank you to have been able to accomodate us with that fantastic trip that we just made in November 25-28 for a few days in Sabah.
From the moment your guide met us at the airport we felt that we were in very safe hands. Our highlights in Sandakan are our lunch at the Tea House, the Sepilok Orang
Outan Rehabilitation Centre and the market at Sandakan - and greatly enjoyed our stay at the Sabah Hotel.
We wanted to specially thank you and Jumaidi (our guide for the second part of our trip) for our trip to the rainforest. Jay did a fantastic job at showing us around and explaining everything about local widlife. He was very knowledgeable and from beginning to end, we very much enjoyed touring with him.
Most of all we enjoyed our stay at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge (despite the construction which we knew about beforehand), the rooms were spotless and the service was very friendly. Also, very much appreciated you taking care of us (in particular all the safety precautions on the boats).
So we will gladly recommend your agency and your guide to our friends. Please feel free to post these comments on your website.
Kind regards and Happy New Year.

Hello Albert,
We really enjoyed our stay at your lodge. Donnie and the entire staff could not have been more helpful, pleasant and accommodating. Our guide, Richard, was excellent and he enabled some great experiences including extraordinary sightings of elephant, river otters, and an orang utan building his nest.

Hi Susi,
Greetings from sunny Arizona! I wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for your help in pulling together our recent Borneo tour, which was quite successful again, making people very happy. Not only did we see great flora and fauna, but things worked seamlessly, thanks in part to you. Our guides and captains were all quite
good, and it was good to work with them again. It was fun too meeting Osman at the transfer to the hotel at the end back in KK. I would love to have him as our guide
for the first, Kinabalu Park, portion of our tours next year.
Thanks for arranging our meeting.

Hi Victaria,
Thanks for all your assistance in organising our trip. We had a great time and the service and staff were excellent. Our guide Hamit was outstanding.
His knowledge of birds and wildlfie (my interest) is very good and a great asset to your company.
Besides that he is a lovely young man and it was a pleasure to spend time with him.
Sukau is a wonderful place and the new rooms are excellent and very comfortable. Well done.
We would love to return to KK in the near future and climb Mount Kinabalu.
Hopefully we will be in contact again.

Dear Fiona,
Our trip with your company was from February 10th to 28th 2010, as we had made our own arrangements for the first part of our holiday.
Had we completed a questionnaire with our opinions of the trip it would be very boring to read as everything was excellent!
We were so pleased to have spoken to and received help and advicefrom Mizal at the British Birdwatching Fair in August last year.
The reason to visit Sabah at this time was to visit our daughter who is working on Pom Pom Island near Semporna.
We arranged this with the resort, we were collected at Tawau Airport and taken in the resort minibus to Semporna.
After a short break at the office on the Quay we went to the boat for the 45 minute trip to the island.
The villas were large, clean and very comfortable, similar standard to the Hill View cabins at Kinabalu Park and the Danum refurbished rooms, but with the sea as a plunge pool!
Food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. When we left they arranged a taxi to take us to the Hotel at Lahad Datu, it took about two and a half hours.
The arrangements you made for the next part of the trip went very smoothly. We were collected on time from the hotel and taken to the Danum office to sign in and then travelled to the resort with Wang Kong Intal.
He was an excellent bird guide, very knowledgeable and patient if the bird wasn't seen by us both! The refurbished Main Building opened on the day we arrived. It is much improved from our previous visit in 2003, as were the rooms.
The only 'problem' with the transfer to Lahad Datu was Orangutans crossing the road! we arrived in good time and soon were in KK, being met by Osman (who was also accompanied our Naturetrek trip in 2003) and Danny.
The Hyatt Hotel was ideal for the one night stay, we enjoyed the Chinese New Year celebrations! At Poring Osman was able to take us to some quiet areas for birdwatching.
Kinabalu Park had improved since our last visit, especially as it was too dry for leeches! Osman and Danny were great company and found us some good birds which we had not seen before.
Our climb to Laban Rata was more strenuous than we had expected, but our Mountain Guide Ronnie was patient and helpful, pointing out the interesting plants and birds which took our attention away from our aching legs!
Obviously the accommodation here was more basic, but it would have been nice to have water in the bathrooms, and a door too! We understand steps are being taken to increase water availability at the resthouse.
The sunrise the next morning made the effort of the climb worthwhile, and we descended slowly to the comfortable Hill View room.
The Rasa Ria provided a different holiday experience, it was nice to relax in the luxurious surroundings before returning to cold UK. The transfer was excellent, as always the driver arrived in good time for the journey to the airport, even at 04.00!
Thank you again for excellent arrangements and also pass on our thanks to Wang Kong, Osman, Danny and all the others in your company who helped make our visit so enjoyable.
We have no hesitation in recommending Borneo Eco Tours to anyone wishing to see the amazing wildlife of Sabah!
Best Wishes

Dear Borneo Eco Tours,
Just returned to Denmark from Borneo we will very much like to say thank you so much for a most wonderful experience in Borneo.
It has been a completely unforgettable stay in every way.
Thank you for a perfect Tour Itinerary, for the nice welcome package, for driving and sailing us around, always at time, and making us feel taken so good care of.
Almost as if we were some VIP’s (Very Important Persons).
Thank you to our guide Sheila for taking us around at Gaya Island and telling us a lot about plants and naked trees etc and also for the trip to Poring Hot Springs,
Kinabalu Park and to the Memorial place from the Second World War and the sad story of the Death March from Sandakan to Ranau. Lest we forget.
At Sandakan we were met by our guide Mirwan who took us to Selingan Island and there being witnesses to the green turtle laying her eggs in the sand at night and
afterwards letting the small hatchlings free was a fantastic experience that we will never ever forget.
And those unforgettable moments just kept on and on, further on to Sepilok Orang Utan rehabilation Centre and their fantastic work with these nice animals.
Now we have adopted one.
And then further on by boat to Sukau Rainforest Lodge along the river Kinabatangan. And suddenly at our way – lucky us – a group of about twelve Bornean pygmy
elephants were taking a bath in the river, even with a little baby elephant among the group. Unbelievable, but true, and completely unforgettable.
At Sukau Rainforest Lodge we were welcomed by Winston, what a lovely welcome, and that Sukau Rainforest Lodge is the winner of several awards is obvious to us.
What a wonderful place with wonderful people, so warm, nice, friendly and peaceful. And staying at the room of His Royal Highness Prince Henrik was as Danes just funny.
The following river cruises were each of them very exciting and every time with the expertise of Mirwan making it even more interesting.
Birds, different kinds of the beautiful Kingfisher, the rhinoceros hornbill, the naughty macaques, the probiscis monkeys, the wild Orang Utans and even the crocodile.
We saw it all.
Thank you so much for all this – to Sheila, to Mirwan, to Winston, to the drivers at the busses, Gibbon and Darter, and to the competent boat drivers, not at least the
boatdriver to Selingan Island.
Thank you to all involved at Borneo Eco Tours. We will love to come back.

Let me just say, Borneo is probably the coolest place ever.
We've had such a blast here; it's crazy to think we're flying out so soon! Have to talk about Sukau Rainforest Lodge....
So after we visited the orangutans, in the wild, no cages, no barriers, we were whisked away by speedboat two hours south to Sukau, where we got to our lodge. It's called Sukau Rainforest Lodge, an eco-lodge deep in the rain forest. This is the place. Our guide, Wan, was sure to tell us that this lodge was NOT a hotel and definitely NOT a resort. No air-con, many mosquitoes, all kinds of bugs. I was a little worried. But when we showed up, we were thrilled to find an absolutely beautiful Borneo longhouse-style lodge right on the edge of the river. The atmosphere was very relaxing, with the main area open to the rain forest, no walls. They even provided us with sarongs to wear to dinner, which was really nice.
We spent the next two days going on river cruises and a jungle trek in search of wild animals, which we saw plenty of. The river cruise was us six on the tour plus Wan, our guide. We went up and down the river, and took a million pictures of long-tailed macaques and the interesting proboscis monkey. We saw SO many of those, and apparently they only live in Borneo. There were also lots of colorful and interesting birds, egrets, storks, eagles, hornbills, and kingfishers of all sorts. It was SO incredibly cool to see these animals in the wild, I couldn't believe it.
The trek was fun, but a little more nerve-racking because we were brushing leeches off each other the whole time, and making sure our leech-proof socks (provided by the lodge) were staying up. Wan showed us lots of plants used by the indigenous people for all kinds of things.
We also went on two night river cruises, which were an entirely different story. Being on a rickety little boat in the pitch dark with a spotlight felt kind of like the beginning of the pirates of the carribbean ride, except if we fell out we'd probably be eaten by crocodiles. We saw so many awesome animals those nights.
Our guide, Marvin, shone a spotlight all around the banks, looking for the reflection of the animals' eyes. I was incredulous at first, but Marvin delivered. Right away we spotted a kingfisher, and got right up close to it, because apparently they're blind at night, and can't see the light or us at all. We saw a civet cat climbing a tree, and three of the largest species of kingfisher. They were huge and so colorful. Then we saw an owl, a purple heron, and a baby crocodile.
The second night cruise was even more exciting. We saw a big kingfisher and a baby crocodile again, then another civet cat, a couple of owls, and then, the most exciting, we saw TWO western tarsiers! Marvin said he'd only ever seen four of these little guys in eight years before that night. He was seriously excited about it, and so were we. I got a couple of grainy pictures of them. Not great but proof that they were there!
Now we're back in KK after a six-hour bus ride, wishing we were back at the rain forest lodge. We were sad to not see any elephants like some of the other people staying at the lodge had the week before, but those tarsiers made up for it, I think.
If I could only come back to one place from this trip so far, I'd go back there definitely.

We saw so many wonderful sights and everytime we look at our photos we wish we were there!
Selingan island was beautiful, seeing the turtle lay her eggs was such a magical experience and releasing the babies was a sight we will never forget.

I would like to take this opportunity to comment the prompt, efficent and friendly service provided by the staff of Borneo Eco tours.
In the 3 days that my family and I had taken up land tours with Borneo Eco tours, we dealt with staff who were very friendly and professional.
From the initial enquiry/booking phase, where Annemarie was prompt in reply to our queries, to the warm and friendly Fiona who sent us to the airport,
we were very impressed with the service provided by Borneo Eco tours.
Not forgetting, Adrian who is very well-informed and made it a very interesting walk for us to Kinabalu Park and Susan who reverted in quick fashion
on both occasions that I dealt wth her. This was our first trip to Sabah and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely recommend our friends and
families to travel to Sabah via Eco Tours.
Our sincere appreciation.
