Managing Director
Albert Teo Chin Kion
Over the past three decades, Albert has been a key player in the tourism industry here in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. Through the years, he has gained vast knowledge and experience as a hotelier, tour operator and lodge owner. Besides that, he is also an author, conference organizer, ecotourism consultant, speaker, lecturer and social entrepreneur. Albert is currently focusing his energy on conservation efforts, as well as empowering and transforming local communities in social entrepreneurship through philanthropic arm, BEST Society. He was also recently awarded with the 2019 Sabah Tourism Special Minister’s Award for his significant contribution in the tourism industry.

Timothy Teo
Timothy Teo leads Borneo Eco Tours and its sister lodges Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Utan Rainforest Lodge nestled in the rainforests of Borneo. Having graduated and worked as a Civil Engineer in Sydney, Timothy also holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School Of Management. For over 15 years, Timothy has been leading the transformation of Sales channels online, driven a deliberate push upmarket and continues to pioneer new lodges and experiences for wildlife safaris in the Borneo Rainforest. To this day, Borneo Eco Tours and Sukau Rainforest Lodge continues to be the most awarded, both nationally and internationally, tour company and lodge in Malaysia for its eco-friendly, responsible and sustainable vision and approach and its pioneering work crafting new world class travel experiences.

Ivan Chang
Fascinated by technology his whole life, Ivan’s career in Web Development and Internet Marketing spans nearly 2 decades. In addition to his position as GM of Borneo Eco Tours, his technical know-how and business acumen allows him to work effectively as a Business Analyst change agent, helping SME organisations to transition seamlessly from outdated processes to better, more efficient systems. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (University of Canterbury), a Diploma in Business and Administration (University of Auckland), and Masters in Business and Administration (Asia Metropolitan University). Besides that, Ivan is also certified as a Professional Trainer by IPMA, a Level 2 Innovation Practitioner by GIMI.
Assistant General Manager (East Coast)
Fernando D. Ruloda
Fernando started out in the tourism industry as a van captain, and held various roles as tourist guide, head guide and naturalist. With his passion and consistency to excellence, he moved up in the rank to become the Operation Manager and Lodge Manager of Sukau Rainforest Lodge during his tenure with our group of companies. Today, Fernando is the Assistant General Manager of Borneo Eco Tours’ Sandakan branch. His commitment, passion and extensive experience in Eco-tourism and leadership skills will be most helpful to spearhead, monitor, and ensure a smooth operation with our team in Sandakan.
