Purchasing Assistant

This position requires a candidate to manage day-to-day operations; liaise with supplier and department concerned, to ensure a competitive price and standard quality, and ensure proper administration and filings of the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist Purchasing Executive to carry out daily operations of Purchasing Department in regards to Best Price, Best Quality and Best Quantity.
  • To ensure all purchases are legitimate business purchases and are made in accordance with company policy.
  • To receive Purchase Request for engineering suplies and general supplies from related department (and ensure that the PR has been approved by the related department head)
  • To communicate with department concerned to ensure the item specifications - identify needs by sample, specification, details brand etc.
  • To prepare purchase order based on approved purchase request.
  • To follow up on the outstanding orders immediately.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  1. Candidate must possess at least an SPM, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Degree in the related field.
  2. Minimum 1 to 2 years' proven work experience in Purchasing.
  3. Good understanding and knowledge of Vendor relationships.
  4. Strong IT skills, customer service, filing skills, and knowledge in purchasing methods and procedures.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong command of English, both spoken and written. Well organized and accurate.
  6. Preferably from a Hotel and Tourism background.
