Just recently, our Managing Director, Mr. Albert Teo was featured in My Faces + Places, a luxury travel blog owned by avid travel writer, Helen Oon. The article written about him is titled ‘Albert Teo- A Man With A Green Mission’ and was published on 8th October 2016. The article tells of our Managing Director’s endeavor as a champion of eco and sustainable tourism in Sabah, Borneo. The article also touches about the establishment of Sukau Rainforest Lodge and its practices as an ecolodge which the writer had the privilege of staying at.
Besides that, the writer also had the opportunity to visit Kiulu Farmstay which she didn’t fail to mention in her article. There, she got to experience firsthand Kiulu valley’s mesmerizing beauty and even went quad biking around the village.
“Set in a gorgeous valley by the cascading Kiulu River, the village known as the “valley in the mist” due to the ethereal veil of mist in the morning is an awesome vista of patchworks of emerald green paddy fields, plantations and forest,” was Helen’s description of Kiulu Valley.
Kiulu Farmstay is a project that aims to empower the locals to be self-efficient in order to eliminate poverty in their village. In her article, Helen states that “Kiulu Farmstay is poised to be the flag bearer of a rural community ecotourism that will set a trend for the future”, which is exactly what our Managing Director, Mr. Albert Teo is working towards.
