After almost 2 months of working from home during the Movement Control Order (MCO), we are finally allowed back in the office. Here we are adjusting to another new norm. Our new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) has been introduced since the physical office reopened again. Since Malaysia’s infection rate has been drastically dropping for the past three weeks, we have to continue implementing strict guidelines if we want to defeat COVID-19.

Temperature check of team members and visitors is done at the entrance of our office.

When entering the office, the temperature of our team members will be checked and recorded every day. Those with high temperatures will be asked to work from home and seek medical attention as a precaution. If the temperature of our team member is normal, they will then need to wash their hands before going to their workstation or desk. Moreover, team members are urged to clean their workstations regularly.

Our office entrance is also prepared with hand sanitizers and face masks for our visitors too. Visitors will also need to have a temperature check before they enter our office Besides that, any letters or packages being delivered to the office will be disinfected before they are brought into our office.

Hand sanitizer and face mask ready at the lobby of our office.

All our team members are highly dedicated to keeping to our new SOP in the office. Social distancing is practised during our team meetings, face-to-face and discussions. During those gatherings, we also wear our facial masks just to be safer. Wearing a facial mask may not give 100% protection, but with the help of social distancing, we try to keep the possibility of infection to its lowest. Furthermore, the team members are not sitting next to each other’s desk. There is always a desk or 2 meters (6 feet) in between them. We also ask our team members to maintain good personal hygiene and to avoid contact with a person who is showing any COVID-19 symptoms. Team members are also urged to not shake hands or have any physical contact and will greet everybody by just raising our hand.

Social distancing during discussions and meetings

Especially for our valued guests, we have taken precautions regarding our vehicles. The vehicles will now be limited to 50% capacity. Passengers will also be encouraged to practice social distancing in our vehicles. When guests or passengers board our vehicle, hand sanitizers will be ready for them to use. Furthermore, temperatures will be checked before they board one of our vans, coaches or boats. The reason we do this is that we are not only trying to protect ourselves and our guides but also our valued guests.

Our vehicles is limited to 50% capacity only.

We encourage all guests to be cooperative with these measurements to travel safer. Our vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Seats, seat belt, door handles, window railing and many other things are disinfected before and after our vehicles are used. Our captain and guides who accompany our guests and passengers during their trips will keep a continuous lookout on our guest’s health condition. High-risk infections areas will not be visited during our trips and our guides will take note of our guest’s movement. This could be of importance when the guest starts showing symptoms.

Our vehicles are also prepared with hand sanitizer and disinfectants.

We hope with all our hearts that we are able to welcome guests to our beautiful destinations in Borneo soon. But for now, stay safe and stay healthy!
