Gelison and Chikita are happy and doing well in the centre where they now spend more time in the outdoor nursery building their skills. Chikita was only 1 month old when she arrived at the centre back in 2010. Today, at 6 years old, she’s a confident and feisty one whose climbing skills have greatly improved over the years. Gelison who is also now 6 years old, is kind and sweet-natured and he gets along very well with the younger orang utans. Our hopes for Gelison and Chikita is that their journey at the centre will continue to improve their progress before they’re released back into the wild.
