Every year, Borneo Eco Tours (BET) will hold an in-house \u2018Motto Competition\u2019 that encourages our team members to search and select a quote\/slogan\/motto that we feel can leave a positive impact on everyone in the organization. The motto that we select has to resonate with the theme given and 2017\u2019s theme is\u00a0\u2018Sustainability\u2019<\/strong> in conjunction with Year of Sustainable Travel for Development 2017 as announced by UNWTO (UN World Travel Organisation)<\/u>.<\/p>\n

The competition is open to all team members including those in the Sandakan branch as well as Sukau Rainforest Lodge<\/a>, and for our most recent competition, we have received the most participants which was 50!<\/p>\n

This year, Borneo Eco Tours has chosen the motto\u00a0\u201cSustainability is us doing more good, not just less harm\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0a quote by Jochen Zeits. The motto was one that was suggested by our team member, Mohd Hanif (congratulations on the win!). This motto will\u00a0help us to carve the way towards a more sustainable Borneo Eco Tours and eventually, a more sustainable tourism industry in Borneo in the future.<\/p>\n

This is just the beginning of our initiative in celebrating the 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development (IY2017)<\/a>, an effort made possible by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2017 is looking to be a great year for us and we’re ecstatic to be part of IY2017! \u00a0We are ready to take the big leap and do our best to do more good<\/strong> this year, and we’re inviting you to join us and do the same.
