Being the third largest island in the world, it\u2019s no surprise that Borneo is mind-blowingly rich in biodiversity. Its rainforests are ancient and one of the most complex on Earth. It has more tree species that occur in just a few hectares of Lowland Dipterocarp Forest than on the entire North America continent! The rainforest wonderlands of Borneo is home to diverse tropical life, including invertebrates, reptiles, frogs and mammals, as well as a myriad of exotic bird species. To date, there are about 688 species of birds in the whole of Borneo, which 62 are endemic and can\u2019t be found anywhere else in the world.
\nIf you haven\u2019t already know, the island of Borneo is made out of and shared by three nations; Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. The endemic bird species are mostly concentrated in the Malaysian state of Sabah. With a number of accessible conservation areas that has adequate infrastructure and facilities, Sabah is definitely a blessed state. It\u2019s also no wonder there are many environmentalists, scientists as well as nature and wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world who are drawn to Sabah, the Land Below the Wind.<\/p>\n

\nSabah has also been enticing birdwatchers from near and far to have a unique birding experience in Borneo.
