The annual ANZAC Day 7am dawn service at Sandakan Memorial Park on 25th April 2013 saw some 200 families members, relatives and friends attending the ceremony including Guest of Honour, Datuk Ir. James Wong, President of Sandakan Municipal Council.<\/p>\n

The Call to commemoration was read by Mr Don Felix Azcona, Mr Richard Hardie, Ms Shirley Andrew and Mrs Elizabeth White. Mrs. Catherine Ruth Kent read the first poem and Mrs. Helen Lawler the second poem. Mr. Peter Sipple and Mr. Bernard Dorizzi read “A veteran’s reminiscence”.<\/p>\n

Also in attendance was the 7th Royal Malay Regiment, Tawau and 22nd Royal Malay Regiment, Sandakan. The ceremony was ably hosted by Dr. Arthur Chung and jointly organised by Sabah Tourism Board, Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture and Sandakan Municipal Council.<\/p>\n
