Jay was a super guide who has perfected the balance between friendly and professional. He is fountain of knowledge when it comes to local wildlife and culture. Jay made our small group feel special and went above and beyond to help us spot the ‘big five’ and most importantly Jay’s expertise and patience allowed us to see one pygmy elephant. We had such a great time and Jay was not shy to join in with our group jokes and chatting. 5 *****!

We are a senior couple continuing to see the world but in a more comfortable manner than our grandchildren. Experiencing the jungles of Borneo with Borneo Eco makes this possible. We find we are never too old to learn firsthand the wonderful management practices helping to maintain the ecology of our planet even in remote places with the knowledge and support of this tour group. We wish them great success.

We flew in and out of Sandakan from Kota Kinabalu for the day to join this tour, and it was well worth the effort. We were promptly met at the airport by Fernando (impressive considering our flight was half hour early) and from that point, we were well informed about many interesting facts about Sabah, Borneo, wildlife, and much more. The visits to the Orangutan rehab centre, the Sun Bear Conservation centre, and Labuk Bay to see Proboscis Monkeys were unique and entertaining. Fernando was an excellent guide and we would highly recommend this tour.

The trip to Sukau River Lodge was amazing. Thanks to our wonderful guide Jonathan we saw Orangutans, Proboscis Monkeys, Hornbills, Crocodiles, Macaques, Kingfishers, and many other birds, mammals, and insects. Jonathan was super friendly, kind, efficient, and very knowledgeable. The lodge was extremely comfortable with good food and great staff and everything, from booking, thru pick-ups, transfers and requests worked like clockwork. Can’t wait to go back and thoroughly recommend Borneo Eco Tours and Sukau Lodge - be sure to request Jonathan as your guide!

We did the 3 days, 2 nights jungle tour and stayed at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. The Lodge is amazing, so much luxury in the jungle and still sustainable! We saw lots of wildlife, I mean real wildlife and beautiful nature. Our guide, Rahman, was the best and told us so much about the jungle. He could spot all the wildlife and went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience. The food during the 3-day tour is amazing as well with lots of choices also if you don’t eat spicily :) loved it!

My wife and I booked the 5-day 4 night combo tour of Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Borneo Rainforest Lodge. The pick-ups and transfers all went very smoothly and the accommodations were top-notch. The only slight negatives were the food at Sukau was unimaginative and repetitive. Many times we had the same entrees for both lunch and dinner and the meat was all overcooked. But we did not go there for the food. At Sukau we saw all the animals we anticipated including pygmy elephants and orangutans. It was very convenient to view the animals from the boat on the river.
At the Borneo rainforest lodge, we did not see very many animals but we did see many different species of birds and insects. Here the food was tremendous and varied and the accommodations were tremendous. The view from the canopy walkway was breathtaking. In summation, we enjoyed the well-planned itinerary very much. The wine selection was appreciated also.

Borneo Eco Tours arranged both our Quad Bike Tour and our Mountain Bike Tour whilst holidaying in Sabah. For both tours, we were picked up from and dropped off at our accommodation in air-conditioned buses. They were comfortable and safe with English-speaking drivers.

The actual activities were professionally run and fun. Both showed flexibility where necessary.

Finally, we accidentally left some things at the quad bike site. Borneo Eco Tours arranged the return of these things without charge - a great service.

I happily recommend Borneo Eco Tours.

Saw incredible animals including pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, crocodiles and even and orang utan just by the hotel boardwalk. The staff were truly hospitable and friendly. Highly recommended.

Went on a Kinabalu Park Tour. It was a day tour which involved going to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu, stopping at a market stall on the way to shop or simply get a coffee/drink and get panoramic views of the mountains (unfortunately it was too misty to see much on this day). We continued to the Educational Centre, Botanical gardens and walking trails in the heritage listed national Park. Our guide, Joy, was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and plants. She certainly lived up to her name as the whole tour was a joy. Joy had done her research and knew our itinerary and asked us what we were wanting to fucus on in our tour. she then tailored the tour to what we wanted. When we finished at the national park we went to the Poring Hot Springs. There we had the option to go into the hot sulphur spring baths or go on a nature walk up to the canopy walkway. We chose the canopy walkway and are so grateful. It was a uphill walk but it was worth it. The views were breath taking!! All in all the day was one of the best days of my life.
