Borneo Eco Tours is professional, knowledgeable, and they want their customers to have an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. Everything from arranging the tour online to being dropped off at my hotel after the tour went smoothly. I went on their Kinabatangan Wildlife tour and saw wild orangutans, pygmy elephants, monkeys, various birds, and crocodiles. The Sukau Rainforest Lodge exceeded my expectations. It is clean and has, really, whatever you need right in the middle of the jungle. I also went on their Selingan Island tour to see the turtles. My guide, Fernando, was dedicated and knowledgeable. Both tours were memorable experiences and well worth the money and time. I strongly encourage anyone and everyone to seek Borneo Eco Tours as your travel company while you are in Sabah, Borneo.

Announcement: Good News! We are proud to announce that all 20 Superior rooms and all Villas at Sukau Rainforest Lodge are now equipped with energy saving inverter air-conditioners at no extra charge 24hrs a day.

There will be minor noise disruptions during the day due to ongoing construction of our new villas some distance (50-100m) away but this should steadily decrease as the construction progresses further away. We apologize for any inconvenience but hope the newly installed inverter air-conditioners will help minimise the disturbances caused.

The 20 rooms, multi international award winner, has just been recognized by National Geographic as a National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World. Awarded the Best Nature Lodge in Sabah by Sabah Tourism in 2013/2014, named by National Geographic Adventure magazine in 2009 as one of the top 50 jungle lodges in the world and the winner of the 17th World Travel Awards 2010 as Asia's leading Green Hotel, is managed by Borneo Eco Tours. Built in 1995 in traditional Malaysian architecture using several Borneo hardwood species, it went through a major RM2 million renovation in 2010. It is built on stilts with a bar lounge, gift shop, plunge pool, Gomantong Hall meeting place, education centre, Hornbill Boardwalk, three open decks for wildlife viewing, an enclosed garden, a riverside Melapi restaurant, open sun-deck, river jetty. Commencing in 2016 until the end of 2017, an expansion and upgrading of facilities located some distance away is being undertaken that might have some disruption for our present guests. All rooms have attached bathroom and shower water is supplied through rainwater harvesting and hot water by solar heaters. Air is cooled by cross ventilation air currents, ceiling fan and since July 2016 energy saving inverter air-conditioning. Lighting is supplemented by oil lamps using recycled cooking oil. River tours are conducted by boats powered by electric motors and eco-friendly outboard engines.
