Via internet we had pre-arranged our excursions in Sabah. Communicatie via email went very well and full information and advise was given by Cindy. Unfortunately we had to change our travel plans and only were able to visit Kota Kinabalu area. The daytrips were well organised and with good drivers and guides. Timing excellent. Only negative is that the daytrip to Gaya island and snorkeling tour are not very interesting. The islands are very crowded with Asian tourists. Snorkeling is almost impossible because of the many, many (!) people in the water. The next trip took us to Gunung Kinabalu, which is beautifull in itself. We were lucky to see the mountain in full glory. Only the hiking we did was very limited and not worth the long drive (2hours). We had nice days but can not recommend these two tours to anyone. Snorkeling and jungle tours are much better and les crowded elsewere in Malaysia and Borneo. Also gunung Kinabalu is more interesting If you are planning to climb and explore the area more extensively than we did during this tour. The agency itself is highly recommended!

The whole tour was fantastic. We saw the Borneo big five in one day and had some outstanding guides throughout our holiday. The whole thing was seamless and the local people were so friendly too. The hotel/lodge accomodation was all of a good standard and we also enjoyed staying with a local family for night.
Our highlights . seeing the bats leving the caves at Mulu, sightings of six wild orangutans, watching a green turtle lay her eggs on turtle island and snorkelling with turtles off Sipidan island.
We were really impressed with Borneo Eco Tours and would have no hestitation in recommendng the company to other travellers.
Thanks for everything

I worked with Kyra in customer service to put together a custom 8-day package to Sabah that included Kota Kinabalu, Gaya Island, Borneo Rainforest Lodge in Danum Valley, the Kinabatangan River, and the Orangutan sanctuary. Kyra was prompt and courteous and the price was among the most reasonable of the several quotes I got. The actual trip was flawless and was exactly what was advertised, no surprise fees or anything like that. The complicated arrangement of pickups and transfers were always on time and in comfortable vehicles. The tourguides were knowledgeable and spoke good English. Great job!

We enquired on line from Australia. Borneo Eco Tours proposed an itinerary that met our preferred tour options at a reasonable cost. They were on time very time with well maintained and operated vehicles - cars and boats. At different times we had different guides and drivers. All were friendly and knowledgable. We visited attractions in KK, Sepilok, Sukau and Danum valley and saw many birds and animals.
We rate them very highly and would travel with them again.

I've just returned from a brilliant two week holiday in Borneo with my wife organised by Borneo Eco Tours.
First thing to say is that Borneo is brilliant; fantastic scenery, great wildlife in the rainforests to see (a lot unique to Borneo), loads of things to do, and really friendly people. I travel a lot and have done a range of active holidays cycling in India, Cambodia and Eastern Europe and this country is right up there with the best. Snorkelling on the coral reefs was magical and cycling in the middle of a rain storm (that's why Borneo has rainforests) was just plain fun and the white water rafting after that particular deluge was something else. Gaya island is a must, but be prepared to stretch your budget a bit as it's worth the cost.
Secondly, I want to give a huge amount of credit to Borneo Eco Tours who fixed everything for us, gave us great advice (everything suggested worked out really well and ensured we had a proper experience of this wonderful part of Malaysia), and were wholly reliable and ran quite a varied and dynamic programme like clockwork. All the staff we met or corresponded with were super and helpful.
I don't normally do the superlatives, but Borneo and this travel company deserve all the praise I can give.

If you are visiting Borneo then I recommend Borneo Eco Tours as a mentor, guide..tour operator. I just did that (July 21-26 2016) and I give them a five star rating because:
- Their naturalists(guides)are well informed, passionate about their job, pleasant..and have a sense of humour.
I had Shiela in Kota Kinabalu and Dean and Lee in Sandakan and at the Sukau RainForest Lodge.
-Their vehicles..be it vans or boats are in excellent condition, the drivers (called captains) are competent and ensure that rules are observed.
-They own and run a wonderful Lodge Sukau Rainforest Lodge..clean and fitting in beautifully with the environment and I loved their swimming pool filled with rainwater which they sieved through a fabric .canopy.

We decided on a 3 days Jungle Tour staying in the Sukau Rainforest Lodge (a very charming lodge). A great jungle and river journey with wild Orang Utans, Elephants, Crocodile, small monkey troops and good food. The crew was very knowledgeable and strong in explaining the background of what we were observing.
After that, we spent 2 days on one of the fantastic Islands to just relax, watch the open ocean in front of us and enjoy great food and drinks.
Tommy, Nicole and team from Borneo Eco Tours organised everything for us although we were very late with our booking. Everything was perfectly organised, nothing forgotten and all recommendations were excellent. We will definitely go back and would strongly recommend Borneo Eco Tours.

I wish to provide your company some feedback regarding our recent experience in Sabah.
I can not recommend highly enough the services of Borneo Eco-Tours for any one considering a holiday to Sabah. The opportunity to customise our itinerary was the original factor which drew us to the company. Having now completed our trip, I can say that the level of service in all aspects was outstanding. We are especially pleased to have worked with Jeremy to include the Australian War Memorial in Sandakan, and other commemorative spots in KK.
Our guides and drivers in Kota Kinnablu, Sepilok & Sandakan were all knowledgeable & professional. Adrian, Sheila & Lawrence in Kota Kinabalu ensured we experienced a great deal of the area in our very short time. We even managed to sight a Rafflesia in flower! I should also mention Captain Riswan in Sandakan, and our other drivers & boat staff to & from Sepilok for their courteous and efficient customer service. All accommodation and transportation was of a high standard.
However, without a doubt our guide Hamit in Sandakan & Sepilok was exceptional and ensured all passengers thoroughly enjoyed their experiences. He is an outstanding ambassador for the company. He is truly professional in his field, and what a great “office” to work in! His efforts & dedication truly made our trip memorable.
Since returning to Australia, I have happily passed onto family & friends information regarding Sabah, encouraging them to visit and recommending the services of Borneo Eco-Tours & Sukau Rainforest Lodge.
I look forward to an opportunity to undertake another adventure with Borneo Eco-Tours in the future.
Warmest Regards & Sincere Thanks

I would like to thank you for organising all our recent tours. Everything was fantastic and we had great guides. Fernado our guide on the river has inspired my children to be photographers and taught us a great deal. The Lodge was beautiful and Peter and his staff were extremely obliging. Our day on the railway was a great way to start the trip and Adrian was extremely knowledgeable on the jungle walk on Gay a Island. My seven year old loved the Coral Flyer.
Again we are very grateful for all your help and making our holiday an outstanding experience.

The tours we had (Turtle island, Sukau, Kinabalu Park, Poring and Gaya Island) were all absolutely top-brilliant! Our guides and drivers were all excellent and we were lucky enough to see a big range of flora and fauna we had hoped to see.
