It has been an absolute pleasure working with you and your kindness and excellent customer service and always helping any way you can, is so appreciated. I know I asked for some things that may be different (local school visit) and what you arranged was absolutely amazing and would not have been possible without your assistance. I am so thankful and grateful for that – thank you so much! I would book anything with you again, if I was to visit again and would also highly recommend you to anyone that asks about my experience with you.
Sukau Rainforest Lodge
We were warmly welcomed by Jimunji at the airport and the welcome bag and water was very much appreciated. The book and other items that were in our welcome bag were all amazing! Thank you so much, we have enjoyed everything in the bag so much! Both him and our driver were great. We enjoyed both of the sanctuaries so much and Jumunji was very helpful, as I wanted to make donations and he ensured that I had the information needed to do so.
The lunch at the hotel before our boat ride to the lodge on the first day was difficult for us, as when I spoke to the hostess about my double shell fish allergy and I needed to know what I could or could not eat, she said the chef was too busy. After about 15 minutes the chef came out and said it was very difficult for me to eat there. They gave me a menu to order from and I choose a BLT sandwich and spoke to the chef about washing the pan. He agreed to do that. What was brought to me about 10 minutes later was bread with old vegetables in it topped with a piece of bread with cheese that had been grilled on it. This was disappointing and was not a pleasant experience for me.
We were then taken to the boat and had a very lovely and special ride up the river to the lodge. Our rooms were nice and clean and comfortable. All of the staff at the lodge were fantastic. They were all friendly and helpful and the guides were all so knowledgeable and very pleasant too! We had a great stay here!
We have been blessed to stay at some very beautiful places around the world and have had some great service. Our housekeeper at the Lodge, Amirul, was absolutely amazing! Our room was always made up beautifully and absolutely spotless. I also asked for some extra blankets, that he brought to us too.
The chefs at the lodge were also fantastic. They told me everyday what I could or could not eat and the noodles always had oyster sauce in them. I like to eat noodles so I asked if they could make a plate for me without oyster sauce for each meal and they did that for me. They then made all of their dishes without oyster sauce while I was there, so I was able to eat everything. That is amazing customer service and care! Alawi was always there to speak to me and the whole team was very helpful and amazing.
We loved the boat wildlife tours and all of the guides were great.
The highlight of our stay here, was the visit to the local school. We spent the day with Lee and it was a very special day. Lee is a very knowledgeable guide that loves what he does and everyone can see and benefit from his passion. I really appreciated being able to ask for Lee’s guidance before our visit, to ensure we were respectful. Another thing about the guides here, is that they respect the animals and would not do something disrespectful to them, for our benefit. That was a great thing to see.
Lee also ensured that we were all dressed appropriately for the cave, before we left the resort. He advised what to wear in the morning and looked at everything before we left to ensure we were dressed properly.
We all very much enjoyed our time at this resort!
