We really enjoyed the tour - Lao our guide - was awesome! River cruises are great and the accommodation was really nice. The whole team were very friendly and the tour was very thoughtful. We saw lots of amazing animals :)
The trip of a lifetime!
From concept and planning to boarding the flight back home, the entire experience delivered by Borneo Eco Tours was unforgettable! We met amazing people, saw fantastic creatures and their enviroments and truly had the most incredible time. Furthermore, when asked if they could help me propose to my girlfriend, they went above and beyond to make the entire trip truly amazing. The tours were an intimate size, managed by incredible and experienced tour guides who were super keen to help you see and experience the most available. (Shout out to Jumaidi, Mincho, Amisjan and Jean, who delivered such incredible tours but also helped to deliver the proposal) The lodges and staff were beyond hospitable, the accomodation and food was exceptional and the design and architecture of the lodges themself were quite inspiring! Another shout out to some amazing staff at the River Lodge = Maisarah, Siti Aniesah, Noraini, Maslinda, Nazatul and Kurino Noah who helped complete the proposal plans, prepared and decorated the room, dinner table to top off an incredible evening. None of the trip would be possible and I must save the biggest thankyou to our Tour Consultant and Coordinator Extraordinaire, Clareassah Ambu, who helped put together the entire trip and when asked if she could assist in organising the proposal, leapt at the opportunity with incredible enthusiasm and effort. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the entire tour, from river to rainforest, start to finish, the entire trip was unforgettable and put together by passionate and extraordinary people and we cannot wait to get back to Borneo!
Sukau Forest lodge Borneo
We had an amazing experience staying at the Sukau Forest lodge. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. All the boat tours led by our very knowledgeable and funny tour guide Arnold were fantastic. We saw the Borneo Big 5! ( IYKYK). We were a family of 5 including 2 teenagers and 78 y/o grandma

The best vacation ever - again!
We booked a tailor-made wildlife holiday through Borneo Eco Tours for a second time in a row and could not be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything was exceptionally well organised. Transfers, accommodation, activities and logistics all ran smoothly, allowing us to focus entirely on enjoying our holiday rather than worrying about arrangements. What impressed us most was how effortless the entire trip felt. Moving between different locations in Sabah can be complicated, yet every transfer was waiting for us, every booking was correct, and every detail had clearly been carefully planned. Throughout the journey we felt genuinely looked after. A special thank you also goes to Brandon and the team for arranging a wonderful birthday surprise for my friend. It was a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that created a very special memory and demonstrated the level of care that Borneo Eco Tours puts into looking after its guests. The accommodations selected for us were excellent. We particularly enjoyed our stays at Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Utan Rainforest Lodge, both of which offered wonderful wildlife experiences, comfortable accommodation and welcoming staff. The guides throughout the trip were outstanding. Cliff took excellent care of us during our stay in Sukau, Lee delivered one of the best rainforest treks we have ever experienced, and Azizi made our visit to Gomantong Caves both enjoyable and informative. At Utan Rainforest Lodge, Gabriel went above and beyond to tailor activities to our interests, while Ferris impressed us with her extensive knowledge of wildlife and rainforest ecology. Their expertise added enormous value to the experience. The wildlife viewing exceeded all expectations. As keen birdwatchers, we were thrilled by the variety of species we encountered, including a frogmouth, alongside countless other memorable sightings. We saw orangutans, proboscis monkeys, langurs, crocodiles, dolphins, civets, otters, flying foxes and many more animals. Some moments, such as the sunset cruise through the mangroves and the spectacular display of fireflies after dark in Utan, are experiences we will remember for the rest of our lives. As vegetarians, we were also very impressed by the attention given to our dietary requirements. Throughout the trip, meals were thoughtfully prepared and we never felt like an afterthought. Overall, this was one of the best wildlife holidays we have ever taken. The combination of excellent organisation, knowledgeable guides, beautiful lodges, incredible wildlife and genuine hospitality made for an unforgettable adventure. We would not hesitate to recommend Borneo Eco Tours to anyone looking to experience Sabah’s wildlife and rainforests. Thank you to everyone involved for a truly memorable journey.

Nestled in lush greenery and just minutes from the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Sun Bear Conservation Centre, the lodge felt like a peaceful sanctuary. The rooms were comfortable, the food delicious, and the setting absolutely magical. Waking up to the sounds of the rainforest was an experience in itself. From there, we traveled to Lankayan Dive Resort, a true paradise for ocean lovers. The island is breathtaking—crystal‑clear water, powdery white sand, and vibrant marine life everywhere you look. Whether diving, snorkeling, or simply relaxing on the deck, every moment felt like a dream. The resort staff were warm and attentive, and the conservation-focused ethos made the stay even more meaningful. Our final stop, Sukau Rainforest Lodge, was the highlight of the trip. Located along the Kinabatangan River, the lodge blends comfort with deep immersion in nature. The river cruises were spectacular—we spotted proboscis monkeys, hornbills, crocodiles, and even wild orangutans. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about conservation. The lodge itself was beautifully designed, eco‑friendly, and wonderfully serene. Throughout the entire journey, Borneo Eco Tours impressed us with their seamless organization, exceptional guides, and strong commitment to sustainability. Every activity felt purposeful, educational, and respectful of the environment and local communities. Amazing, unforgettable experience
We had an amazing experience with Borneo Eco Tours. The lodge was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the food throughout the trip was excellent. A special mention goes to our guide, Vincent, who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and rainforest. The boat trips with him were a real highlight – we saw so much wildlife, and his expertise helped us spot and learn about many different species. We were even lucky enough to see orangutans in the trees right outside our room, which was an unforgettable experience. Over the course of the trip, we managed to see four of the famous Borneo Big 5. The only one we missed was the elephant, but Vincent made every effort to try and find them for us – it just wasn’t meant to be this time! We also visited the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Sepilok at the start of the trip, which was fantastic and well worth seeing. At the end of our stay, Vincent guided us around the Rainforest Discovery Centre, where his knowledge once again really enhanced the experience. We were fortunate enough to spot gibbons there, which was a wonderful way to finish the trip. Overall, this was an unforgettable wildlife adventure, made even better by Vincent’s expertise and enthusiasm. We would highly recommend Borneo Eco Tours to anyone wanting to experience the incredible wildlife and rainforest of Borneo.

From the moment we were picked up at Kota Kinabalu Airport until our drop-off at Sandakan Airport, Borneo Eco Tours delivered an exceptional experience that exceeded all our expectations. Our journey began with Captain Joe, who greeted us right on time and transported us to a well-located, clean, and comfortable hotel. The following day we met our guide, Eddie, and together they made our time in Kota Kinabalu unforgettable. From visiting the Mari Mari Cultural Village to exploring Kinabalu Park, everything ran seamlessly. What stood out most was their genuine passion for sharing their country, culture, and hidden gems beyond the usual tourist trail. Eddie and Joe went above and beyond to ensure my husband, who has some mobility challenges, was comfortable and able to fully enjoy every aspect of the tour. At the Sabah Tea Plantation, we changed guides and drivers and were introduced to Kazree and Captain Jassie. Once again, we were welcomed with incredible warmth, hospitality, and professionalism. Kazree’s knowledge of Sabah’s history, wildlife, and culture was remarkable. Highlights included our tour of Sandakan, the Sandakan Memorial Park, and visits to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Every stop was enriched by Kazree’s enthusiasm and expertise. The absolute highlight of our adventure was spending 5 days and 4 nights at Sukau Rainforest Lodge on the Kinabatangan River. Quite simply, it was beyond anything we had imagined. The lodge itself was beautiful, the staff were outstanding, and the hospitality was genuine and heartfelt. We stayed in a villa, which was wonderful, although the deluxe rooms also looked excellent. One of the most magical aspects of the lodge was the resident family of orangutans that regularly visited the trees around the property, offering guests a unique wildlife experience right from the lodge grounds. The river safaris were truly spectacular. We were fortunate enough to see Borneo’s famous “Big Five” and so much more. Every cruise revealed something new, from pygmy elephants and orangutans to proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, hornbills, and countless other species. Early morning and late afternoon cruises along the Kinabatangan River were simply sublime and quickly became our favourite part of each day. Kazree once again went above and beyond, making it easy for my husband to get on and off the boats and ensuring we never missed an opportunity to enjoy the incredible wildlife around us. We were so glad we chose to spend extra time at Sukau Rainforest Lodge—in fact, we could happily have stayed much longer. A special thank you also goes to Maxwell, who helped us organise the trip from Australia. His advice, suggestions, and responsiveness made planning easy and stress-free. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Borneo Eco Tours provided us with an unforgettable adventure filled with incredible wildlife, fascinating culture, breathtaking landscapes, and wonderful people. Every guide, driver, lodge staff member, and team member we encountered was professional, caring, and passionate about showcasing the very best of Sabah. A fantastic tour with seamless organization and a high level of luxury.
Our tour was a fabulous experience and very well organized by Borneo Eco Tours - especially consultant Clareassah.Everything went without a hitch and attention to even small details ( like whether we had arranged transport get us to the bus in Lahud Datu in time at the end) was excellent. We cannot fault much at all.
