We stayed at the Sukau Bilit Rainforest Lodge as part of our tour around Sabah. Taking the boat down river to the lodge we saw our first wildlife, a 3 to 4 metre crocodile sunning itself on the bank. Pretty cool!! Saw a lot of wildlife on our boat trips on the river, such as proboscis monkeys, a Bornean pygmy elephant, long tailed macaques, monitor lizards and a variety of birds. The lodge was right on the river and we wer

My stay in Sukau Rainforest Lodge was unforgettable.
I was skeptical while booking my trip: to send money to the other side of earth and don't know who are the people on the other end.
But it turned into an amazing trip with gentle guys, pretty good logistics and accomodation.
The bungalows were verry clean and cosy. you can take a hot shower if you like. Where was this offered to you in the wild

We did not know what to expect and had packed a lot into our holiday, but the reason for venturing to Aisa was the Orangutangs. We had read about Sukau.
the booking was done on line very easily with the agent and on the one time we did need to talk to him, we did a skype call.
We booked one of the new rooms, which was very nice. The shower / toilet room ws particular well done.

I stayed here for three days and two nights, half november. That is in low-season and I can only encourage you to do that as well.
The place is much quieter and far more enjoyable. First of all it's less crowded on the river and there is more space in the boats. And second of all, there are less boats in the river, so the wildlife is less disturbed and more at ease. It is one of the things I fear for

We stayed here as part of a tour of Sabah taking in Sandakan, Selinghan Island, Danum Valley and Kota Kinabalu. Our experience at Sukau was wonderful - the accommodation, service and facilities were considerably better than we were expecting at a lodge in the middle of the forest. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the guides were extremely impressive - first at making sure that we got to see the wildlife,

We were here to view animals in nature.
didn't expect such fine food or air conditioning. The boardwalks through the woods were a plus - especially when encountering pig-tailed macaques. Bold little fellows - that would snatch unattended riverside breakfast items if not guarded,

Wonderful place in an amazing setting. After a long day we were cheerfully greeted, shown and encouraged, how to wear a sarong, and personally shown to our rooms. There¹s a small bar, a shop, a dip pool, and walkways round the area. We were lucky enough to be visited by an Orangutan in the lodge itself. There¹s early breakfast, breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. All food is a buffet, quality and variety is exce
