Kinabalu and Deramakot Wildlife

Enjoy your breakfast before we start with the educational tour at the tea factory and a walk through at the area of the plantation. We will watch the process of how the tea leaves are harvested, processed to a bag of tea and tea sampling. 

Depart to Telupid and stop by for lunch at Telupid town, before continuing overland for another 2.5 hours through an occasionally bumpy gravel road to enter Deramakot Forest Reserve. Your wildlife search starts the moment you reach the main entrance of Deramakot Forest Reserve. Upon arrival at base camp, check in and rest until dinner time. After dinner, we will go for our first night drive in an exciting search for the many nocturnal animals that make their home in this rainforest.

Start your day with a dawn drive in search of diurnal animals. Have light breakfast as you bask in the incredible sight of an ancient Bornean tropical rainforest enveloped in mist. Continue to be in search of Bornean wildlife whilst we return to base camp for a full breakfast followed by some leisure time.

After lunch, you’ll enjoy a nature walk around the vicinity of the base camp before you head for another safari drive. You’ll be back to the base camp to freshen up and have early dinner. After dinner, exhilarate yourself as you embark for a night drive.

Savour some filling breakfast before you head over to the reserve for our last morning drive. Explore the forest as you search for wildlife on foot as you go for a long trek on an abandon trail. At noon, enjoy a tiffin lunch as you immerse yourself in nature.

Experience the pristine ambiance of the rainforest as you continue jungle trekking. Drive back to base camp to rest until dinner. After dinner, be entailed as you embark on a longer safari night drive in search of more exotic wildlife.

Enjoy your last breakfast at Deramakot Forest Reserve surrounded by nature, before returning to Kota Kinabalu.
