Exceeded expectations which were high
Exceeded all expectations and did not disappoint. Wonderful location by river and rainforest, accommodation and staff first rate. Very informative guides and wonderful to see wildlife in natural environment. Wouldn’t miss it
Above and beyond !
For obvious reasons I might be slightly biased by what I’m about to write but our incident aside, we had a great time, every boat trip was different and our guide , Yunus was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Now I’ll explain my title, above and beyond, my wife took very ill during the early morning, so much so that I sent my daughter to try to get help at 1.30am in the morning, she bumped into the security man, Ardin , who promptly woke the resort manger, Mr Jiwa, they grabbed a wheelchair as my wife was struggling to stand and quickly arranged a boat to transfer us to a local clinic, this was closed so with myself, my wife , daughter,Mr Jiwa, called his chef from the bot as we were hurtling along the river ,the chef, Teddy met us on a makeshift jetty and we transferred my wife to teddy’s mini van, and headed for the bigger clinic around 30 minutes away, my wife was by now struggling to breathe properly and teddy drove like he was in a F1 car which was no mean feat on the roads , the upside was the after getting medical treatment everything turned out fine and I think the guys eventually got back to the lodge around 6am, just in time to start work for the day, I can’t thank them enough for the way they snapped into action and reacted to what was a real emergency at the time, I’m just so glad I’d chosen to stay at the lodges. So apart from the tremendous wildlife experience,be rest assured should there be any unfortunate incidents the staff here will do their utmost to look after you, thank you to the 3 superheroes and all the staff.
Incredible experience, could not fault
This was one of the most incredible places we have been! The whole trip was so well organised and the staff extremely professional and friendly. We had an amazing time and it felt luxurious whilst also being adventurous. Thanks to our very knowledgeable guide Vincent Y!
The most amazing adventure
Just wow we had the most amazing time on our 2 night 3 day tour with Borneo Eco Tours on the Kinabatangan River. J our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly he really made the experience even better. This was both mine and the kids highlight of our two week trip to Borneo we just wish we had gone to the Danum Valley too. The accommodation was really good, food was great. Activities well planned and J did his hardest to make sure we got to see all the wildlife in their natural habitat. My children are 6 & 8 and loved every minute. The rooms were really comfortable, the nature walk around the accommodation was good and it was nice to have a pool to cool off in during your down time. If you go to Borneo you would be silly not to book with them. Thank you for all our amazing memories
A tour not to miss.
A fantastic tour through the jungle. Wild ourangatangs, pigmy elephants, crocodiles and lots of different monkeys. The your guide was excellent and accommodation was perfect. We had the most amazing and relaxing time travelling by boat through the wilder areas. We would recommend this tour very highly.
Incredible experience — don’t hesitate in booking
Stunning and unique from start to finish. I could not be happier with our visit to Sukau Rainforest Lodge with Borneo Eco Tours. From start to finish — booking through the trip to drop-off — the staff were incredibly professional, attentive and kind. Our guide, Vincent, was so great. He was knowledgeable, approachable, patient and just a joy to be around. We saw the big 5 all within the first day! The river tours were magical and just an amazing way to experience the forest and spot wildlife. The lodge itself was so beautiful. Our accommodations were stunning and without a doubt the nicest place we stayed on our entire trip. The staff at the lodge were fantastic. The food was great and they were always so kind and helpful. Hands down one of the most memorable experiences. Don’t hesitate in booking with Borneo Eco Tours.
Professional in every way
So I made an initial enquiry from the UK and Brendan was extremely helpful from the outset. Once we booked we got immediate confirmation and were picked up from our hotel in Sepilok as promised for the Kinabatangan river stay. The whole trip was seamless, guides were so knowledgeable - thank you Rahman - he gave us a trip to remember, we were fortunate to see all the big 5 and then more. Really kind staff in the lodge and a good selection of meals provided. Would certainly recommend.
Sukau Rainforest Lodge & Tabin Wildlife Reserve Tour
Borneo Eco Tours provided us with a five star experience. Everything went perfectly & most importantly our guide, Jay, was fantastic. He was the perfect mix of knowledge, passion & determination. He was as excited as us when we saw an elephant herd (20+), drinking at the river, he jumped with excitement when we saw our first rhinoceros hornbill and he was determined we see every major animal and bird. His knowledge of animals, birds and the region was great. He amazed us spotting animals while driving the boat. Our first 2 night stop was Sukau Rainforest Lodge, a beautifully rustic river lodge. The river cruises were a perfect way to see wildlife and experience the rainforest. We were lucky to see the three orangutans whose territory include the forest around the lodge. The food was simple and tasty, the pool was functional and good for a break. Our 2nd stop was Tabin Wildlife Reserve. It was remote, 90 minutes on rugged dirt road. The lodge is in a beautiful location. It’s functional from a room and food perspective but it’s wildlife safari offering was fantastic. Local gibbons and otters were a highlight. Our guide Alister was delightful and knowledgeable.
Best way to explore Borneo!
Fantastic organisation and magical experience. We did the 3D2N trip, starting with the activities in Sepilok and with two nights at the Sukau Lodge. All the modes of transport were so comfortable and the guides were great. The lodge is stunning and the food was so so good. We loved every second of our adventure! Audrey organised the trip for us and was very helpful and quick on email. Highly recommend
Excellent and reliable tour operator, highly recommended
We had a great trip to Selingan Island and Kinabatangan with Borneo eco tours. Everything was arranged perfectly by Allyssa and Marty, our guide, with excellent knowledge of wildlife, nature and other aspects of Sabah. A big thank you to both of you!
