Take a day trip to learn about the people and their culture as you immerse yourself in their way of life and traditions. Let all your tension and worries melt away as you soak in Kiulu’s modest beauty of lush paddy fields, charming farms, revitalizing forests and rolling emerald mountains. It’s an enlightening day trip that would leave you coming back for more.

Pick up from hotel and drive approximately 45 minutes to the countryside with a quick stop at Tamparuli Suspension Bridge and the nearby local market, passing the scenic view of the Kiulu Valley. Upon arrival at the Fig Tree in Kampung Mantob, you will be greeted with a warm welcome and briefed on the program of the day by our local guide. After enjoying your scrumptious traditional lunch, proceed to a leisure village walk which would offer you stunning landscapes of the scenic valley as you pass through a local school, lush paddy fields, and a hanging bridge. Then try your hand at some cultural activities such as traditional rice processing, blowpipe, rice planting (optional – in season only) and rubber tapping. If time and weather permit, take a dip in the sensationally cooling Kiulu River before departing back to Kota Kinabalu city.
