Adventure of a lifetime
Had a wonderful 2 week trip with Borneo ecotours. The trip included time in Sukau and Danum Valley and also summited Kinabalu. The VIP though was Brandon at head office. Always kept us informed and when I made some changes midway through the trip he was on the ball and accommodated all of our requests. Thank you for all your help Brandon.
Two days and three nights on the Kinabatangan River.
A super trip from the start at Sandakan. The speed boat to Sukau Forest Lodge was awesome. The night safari was fabulous. Dawn Safari was super. Our speed boat safari rides throughout our 2 night 3-day experience were breathtaking. The variety of wildlife which we saw and which was spotted by the guides was incredible. Our food, beverage, and accommodation were fabulous. The wilderness experience was humbling, captivating, and memorable. I can thoroughly recommend the package.
Nice time, but a little tame
An enjoyable experience, even if the route was a little tame being a gravel unpaved road with lots of ups and downs. The guys were really friendly though, and were nice enough to take us to a supermarket on the way back I wish that it was a little harder and more off-road, but understandable if you don't know the skill level of the rider or you need to suit the lowest skill level. Quite a long way from the central KK
Really enjoyed our time in Borneo!
We enjoyed our time in Borneo very much! The accommodations were very comfortable and clean, the food was adequate and our guides were outstanding. From start to finish the trip was well organized and everyone went out of their way to see to our comfort. We saw 4 out of the Borneo 5, all we missed were the elephants. We would definitely recommend the trip!
Fantastic guide, seamless transfers, accomodation way above expectations, beautiful, friendly staff on boats and lodges
We are a family of 6 (4 kids aged 16-22) and did the 4 day tour from Sandakan to Turtle Island, Orangutan plus Sun Bear rehabilitation centres and Sikau Rainforest lodge. Quite simply the trip was fantastic. Our wonderful guide Lau coordinated everything and was a mine of information about all the wildlife and the whole region. The quality of our accomodation was way beyond our expectations and the food was terrific. We saw turtles hatching, baby turtles released into the sea, elephants, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, snakes, crocodile, gibbon and more. The Sikau lodge sits right on the beautiful Kinabatangan river and we were given 3 trips a day out in the smaller boats looking for wildlife. So good. Most of all the staff were so pleasant and helpful and I would urge anyone who is thinking of going to just do it, helping support the eco-tourism industry there is just one important way of saving their remarkable location from further deforestation. Brilliant, brilliant trip.
Amazing wildlife tour seeing the Borneo Big 5!
Did a wildlife tour and river cruises for 4D3N. Loved our river cruises and our stay at the amazing Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Truly beautiful nature to marvel everywhere you look at. This was truly once in a lifetime type of trip for nature lovers! Highly recommended tour company, everything ran smoothly and professionally. Worth every penny!
Excellent tour....
Three of us took the SABAH WILDLIFE SAFARI 8D/7N with Borneo Eco Tours in September, 2023. The safari was very well organized. From the initial steps (Thank you Oviera Cyril) to the very end everything worked well. Everything was on time, accommodation and food was high quality. Our goal was to see orangutans and proboscis monkeys in the wild. This was easily achieved. We saw Proboscis monkeys on a daily basis in Sukau and Orangutans in Borneo Wildlife lodge. But we saw much more. All kind of exotic wild life and birds. Yes, we got bitten by leeches but it was certainly worth it. On the positive side there were hardly any mosquitos. Importantly, we always felt save and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Borneo Eco Tours. They know what the are doing.
Amazing experience
We did a package to Turtle Islands (Selingan Island) and Sukau Rainforest Lodge. It was a 4 day, 3 night expedition, and it was wonderful. Our guide Astley was very knowledgeable and informative. The Sukau Rainforest Lodge is an amazing place with an abundance of wildlife within the grounds of the resort as well as up and down the river. The service at the resort was great. Rooms were very comfortable. We particularly liked the rainforest discovery centre where we could have stayed a little longer. The only slightly disappointing thing was the swimming area at turtle Islands was very shallow and poor for snorkelling.
An Incredible Tour In Every Way!
We did a 4 night/3 day Kinabatangan River Tour to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. This was easily one of the best tours we have ever been on. From the time our guide picked us up at our hotel in Sandakan until we were dropped back off when the tour ended everything was flawless. The guides, captains and hotel staff were all so kind and professional. The food and rooms were well above our expectations. The area behind the lodge was incredible as we saw all kinds of wildlife including orangutans right there on the property. The boat cruises on the river were magical and we saw so much wildlife due the hard work our guide. I can highly recommended this company as it was money well spent. They also made the booking process easy and stress free.
Turtle island and orangutan rehab
The trip was delightful and well organized. It seems like they operate with a large number of tours as we were transferred from one guide to another based on our itinerary, but that wasn't an issue. Both guides were quite friendly and knowledgeable about conservation and were a great source of information about the things we saw on our trip. The accommodations are good but don't expect anything fancy on turtle Island. We saw a total of four giant turtles, two of them laying eggs, as well as a bunch of other animals. Weather alternated between blazingly hot and sunny to a massive storm that pelted down rain. Be prepared for that malaysian weather.
