All arrangements for a 9 day trip to see Borneo wildlife went completely as planned. The accommodation offered (Sepilok Nature Lodge, Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Borneo Rainforest Lodge) were excellent choices. The itinerary covered everything we wanted to see. Borneo Eco Tours were evident across Sabah with well appointed vehicles and knowledgable guides. We particularly appreciated the ease of modifying standard itineraries to meet our wishes. As an example of the extra effort, Borneo Eco Tours staff in Kota Kinabalu picked up and stored additional suitcases for us before we started the trip in Sandakan and returned them after the itinerary had ended.

We had a local guide Sha who looked after us very well and told so much local knowledge. We had a tremendous varied trip, saw beautiful animals and birds. I can thoroughly recommend this tour.

Our experience with Borneo Eco tours was brilliant, we couldn’t have asked for a better host/ guide than Mason, a person who really loves his job and wants to share his knowledge and experience with you. Mason picked us up at Sepilok for our visit to the sunbeam and orangutan conservation centres,and then travelled with us to Sukarno, the transfer by boat was well organised and enjoyable we even saw some dolphins on the way. Our daily trips on the Kinabatangan river were amazing, Mason spotted so many animals we completed the Borneo big 5 by day 2 !
Our trip to Gomantong caves with another guide was ok but we missed having Mason with us

Our experience with Borneo Eco tours was brilliant, we couldn’t have asked for a better host/ guide than Mason, a person who really loves his job and wants to share his knowledge and experience with you. This trip was brilliant from start to finish. Our guide, Jay, was professional, friendly, prompt and informative. The minibus was clean and safe. The trip itself was amazing and I’d recommend it to anyone’s Borneo itinerary

We had the most amazing tour with our fantastic guide Syahfil. He gave us the tour of our lives, going well above and beyond to make sure we had every opportunity to see as much as possible. In fact we were lucky enough to see all of the Borneo Big 5. Orangutans, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles, Pygmy elephants and the rhinoceros hornbill. The whole tour was great value, we were fed constantly and it was very well organised. I can’t recommend Borneo Eco tours enough!

We’ve just completed the 4D 3N Sandakan Wildlife Safari as part of our honeymoon. We were blown away by the service and organisation of Borneo Eco Tours.

The logistics were spot on, itinerary’s ran perfectly, and you were never left waiting for the next activity/pick up, with just enough time to relax in between!

Service from the whole team was incredible. Special mention to our guides, Jimmy on Selingan turtle island & Ashraf for the 3 days on the Kinabatangan River was a superstar.

The accommodation at Selingan island was basic & hot! But on a conservation island don’t go expecting luxury and you’ll be fine. On the other hand Sukau Rainforest Lodge is incredible, the villas are beautiful and the whole lodge being absorbed in nature is great.

We were lucky to see the big 5 on the Kinabatangan River, along with otters, lots of birdlife & an amazing night cruise where we saw a Buffy Fish Owl, and 2 different civets (Malay & Common Palm) - our guide Sandram had amazing eyesight, this was the highlight of our trip! Thank you also to host Noah for organising a private night tour for us as it was our honeymoon!

The food throughout the trip was plentiful & delicious, especially the soups at Sukau lodge which we had to ask chef for the recipe!

All in all, an unforgettable trip, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend using Borneo Eco Tours & we hope to return one day to explore more of the amazing island of Borneo and the tours BET offer.

The guides were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and fun, making every excursion enjoyable and memorable. The resort and lodges were beautiful and comfortable, and the staff provided outstanding hospitality — always helpful and welcoming.

The river cruises were conducted in small groups of no more than eight people per boat, which made the experience feel personal and authentic rather than a typical tourist excursion. All transport — whether by boat, jeep, or bus — was perfectly organized, so we never had to worry about a thing.
