Great!
Booked the Borneo Big 5. A great set up with many fantastic nature experiences and great and relaxing accommodation both in Sukau and Danum. Would not hesitate to book with Borneo Eco Tours again.

Unforgettable experience
We booked a 2D1N tour to a longhouse. We booked last minute, yet we got an amazing guide - John, and everything was well prepared for us. We got a lot of information about the historia of Sarawak in the car while driving to the longhouse, and at the longhouse we got the best welcome ever. John has great knowledge, is super friendly and nice to be around. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone, as it greatly succeeded my expectations. Had a great, authentic experience that I will never forget.

Deramakot through Borneo Eco Tours
We undertook the Deramakot forest trip (through Borneo Eco Tours) with the primary intention of seeing an orangutan. We had a wonderful guide in Syahfil and the 4-wheel driver in Raydo . They were instrumental in ensuring we had a wonderful experience.
Deramakot unlike other reserves has only 1 road into the forest and spotting animals or birds in the thick jungle is probably a matter of chance even with multiple trips. A large number of animals are nocturnal and spotting them in the dark even under torch light is fairly difficult - its probably worth doing more dusk , early morning trips rather than the night ones. We did spot a orangutan and its infant around 6pm on one of the trips.
Accommodation is very basic. The food served at the common dinning hall is good.
To attract a greater number of tourists, we feel its essential to improve the infrastructure in this reserve combined with multiple roads into the jungle to ensure a greater chance of spotting animals/birds.

Incredible family trip
Had an incredible time. We saw probably 200+ monkeys, pigmy elephants, crocs, snakes and more. The service on the tour was exceptional. The weather held out, other than an early morning shower for the boat cruise which was wet but fun. Overall really impressed. Wasn't sure what to expect being on a boat for a large portion of the tour but was able to see so many incredible animals with very knowledgeable guides.

Incredible experience that works for any time frame
My partner and I booked a tour through eco tours as part of our travels in south east Asia. We really wanted to see the famous orangutans but only had a short time in Borneo so the half day tour option was perfect for us. We got to see orangutans in their natural environment, simply by observing them. No interference whatsoever which was nice to see. You get a genuine sense of care from the staff that work there for the animals and you can tell it is the opposite of a zoo, they have a hands off approach to really encourage the orangutans to be able to survive back on their own after being rehabilitated. After seeing the orangutans, we had a walk through the forest with the incredible Arnold. I cannot speak highly enough for him, he truly was the best tour guide. He was so informative without information overloading us, if there was a question we had that he didn’t quite know, he would take the time to find out the answer for us. We weren’t able to find any snakes in the forest but he promised if he found any, he would send us a photo. He kept his promise and a little while after our tour he send photos of some wonderful looking snakes. The fact he remembered to do this meant a lot to us and shows how personal this tour company makes their tours. If we go back, I would absolutely do the longer tour with this company. 10/10 recommend

First rate company that handled every detail with great expertise and hospitality.
Borneo Eco Tours organised our stay on the Kinibatangan river at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.
Every detail of their service was exceptional.
Starting from my initial enquiry back in October, their information and communications were superb. Quick, easy to understand, and answering every question with clarity.
The payment links were simple and reliable.
We flew into Sandakan and their rep was there to collect us and take us to the lodge. The journey is quite long and arduous, but their mini van was comfortable, driver very safe snd chatty, even WiFi onboard should you need it!
We stopped for a lovely lunch on the way too.
We came back via the river and again, the host was extremely knowledgable at spotting wildlife (we saw orangutans and crocs on the way) and the obvious skill of the captain of the boat put us completely at ease. This route is not for the average sailor!
Then we were provided with another fabulous lunch at Sandekan before being taken to Sepilok.
Honestly, look no further than Borneo Eco Tours. Borneo is a truly magical part of the world, but you want to be in the best hands and BET made our trip an absolute breeze.
Thank you Alyssa and team!

4 nights 5 day trip to Utan Rainforest Lodge, Lahad Datu
We had a great time at Utan Rainforest Lodge. We are nature lovers and photographers and we loved the variety of activities available here from boat rides to night drives, night walks and hikes, it is an all rounder place for animals of Borneo.
Our stay was made more fun by out great guide Sharizam and oyr driver/boat captain Rahman. Our appetites was satisfied by the versatility of Chef Hamid who is a super cook and who we know from other resorts in the past. The reception and service staff are also helpful and cheerful.
It is one of the easiest areas to spot a leopard cat. The sunset cruiseceith fore fly watching is another activity we enjoyed. We were also lucky to see the Bornean Ground Cuckoo and Sabah Patridge, as well as 3 specied of hornbills, 4 species of primates, leopard cat, 2 species of civets, a slow loris, the rare storm stork etc etc etc
A great all rounder place to visit.

This was the highlight of our Borneo 10 day trip!
We spent 10 days in Kota Kinabalu and this was by far the highlight of our trip. We did the 3d2N Sakau Rainforest excursion and me, my husband and 3 kids loved it. We were able to see the Borneo Big 5 and much much more. Want to give a shout out and thanks esp to our tour guide Terence who was so knowledgeable and will entertain us with his jungle adventure stories. Also to Claressah and the team at Sakau Lodge for organizing the celebration of my son's 7th birthday. Also thank all the lodge manager, staff at the lodge from the front desk (Sarah) and restaurant staff who were all very gracious and kind. Thank you for making this bucket list come true and capping a great end of 2024 year!
