Fabulous tour in Borneo

Many thanks to Borneo Eco Tours for a wonderful stay in Sabah! From our first enquiry, William was very helpful in arranging a private customised tour. Loved the whole experience, the wildlife, the Kinabatangan River and our stay in Sukarno Rainforest Lodge. Special call-out for our guide Jad who was kind, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. Highly recommend!

Focused Birding

Adrian and Julius picked us up at our hotel right on time, gave us a packet of information on the birds we targeted and off we went to Mt Kinabalu. We birded solidly for three days and were extremely impressed with Adrian’s ability to find birds we had never seen and not give up trying to find the elusive ones. Accommodations were lovely and we would highly recommend Borneo Eco Tours.

Excellent Borneo Trip

We had a wonderful 3D2B trip to Borneo staying at sukau lodge. Our guide Jay was excellent, he was approachable, knowledgeable and had excellent English. We spotted 4 of the Borneo big 5. A real bucket list trip! Thank you!

You've just found the BEST TOUR AGENCY for your trip to Borneo

Planning a trip to Borneo was tricky. I really didn’t know where to start. My time in Borneo was going to be limited to a week so I wanted to select the key locations and stay at the very best hotels available. I looked at the usual Abercrombie & Kent tours for guidance but the prices were ridiculously expensive - practically TWICE the cost of what I paid for the same trip.

So I started my research and found Borneo Eco Tours, a locally based Tour Agency in Borneo.

To be honest, I was a little nervous about booking with a company I knew so little about, especially handing over my credit card details, but my concerns were soon put to rest.

Working closely with attentive and knowledgeable Cindy Edward, she created a bespoke luxury tour for us in Borneo’s rainforest including the best luxury resort I have ever stayed in. Cindy gave me every confidence in the arrangements and patiently worked with our dates/availability and even guided us on flight connections. Included in our tour price was accommodation, ground transfers, guides, activities, all food and soft drinks. Our tour highlights included visiting the famous Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, early morning water safaris on the Kinabatangan River and spotting wild orangutans in the Danube Valley’s 130 million year old virgin rainforest. It was a truly epic adventure with all the comforts you could desire - we even had a Butler!

If Borneo is on your travel wish list, Borneo Eco Tours is the company to book with. They run a first class operation, are knowledgeable and reliable and importantly support and protect the environment and local communities whom they employ, train and develop.

Traveling around Tabin Forest.

I was traveling around Borneo in October 2024 and one of my goals was to visit Tabin Forest. Borneo Eco Tours organized my whole trip, being hosted in Utan Rainforest Lodge. It was expensive but we're talking about very high quality in every aspect. I had a private guide and I had the opportunity to take photos of animals very rare to spot, like ground cuckoo or several especies of wild cats. Highly recommended.

Great experience

We had an amazing 4 day trip on the Kimabatangan river. All the guides were very knowledgeable and spotted a lot of animals. Everything was carefully planed by Borneo Eco Tours, our only job was to relax and enjoy. Recommend 1000%.

Amazing 4 day 3 night tour. Ticked off the big 5. Something we will never forget

Had an incredible 4 days with our guide Yunus. The trip was incredibly well organised from start to finish and made the 4 days we spent on the tour really easy.

We started with 1 night on Selingan island watching the turtles. Quite basic accommodation but everything you need to be able to see the turtles which was an amazing experience.

After the turtle island we went to kinabatabgan for 3 days 2 nights. The whole experience of sukau rainforest lodge with Yunus as our guide was incredible. Hard to put into words how good it was. We saw all of the big 5 and many other animals. We knew before arriving that seeing the big 5 can be quite rare but Yunus knew where to go and at what times to give us the best chance. Which worked great.

Yunus and all of the guides are extremely good at spotting things that you wouldn’t notice otherwise. Their knowledge of the local wildlife took our experience to another level.

We also went to Sepilok orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries plus the rainforest discovery centre.

I would recommend borneo eco tours to anyone as an experience you have to try if you are into nature!

Awesome way to explore a part of Sabah jungle

We had a fantastic trip with Borneo Eco Tours. Booked way ahead from home, to make sure we had a spot with the family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids (9&7)).
Pick up at the hotel and straight to the OrangUtan Sactuary. Our guide (Jimmy) gave us some tips in being ahead of the crowds and was very friendly and relaxed.
After also checking the Sunbears (and a good lunch), we went on the boat to the jungle lodge. This is a great spot. Located pretty far up river, but perfect in the middle of the jungle. With proboscis monkeys and orangutans waking you up in the morning, collecting food in the trees in and around the lodge.
We have seen all we wanted to see (big 5) and more.
Jimmy and the rest of the crew was very friendly and helpful.
Although pretty pricy, it was worth it!

A minor comment, some more specific on the clothing advice per trip option would make it easier for many visitors. We saw many people dressed up for a foottrip through the jungle, including us. While in the end, we did not get of the boats at all.
