We had a great time staying at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge and our guide, Jimmy, was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about the environment, the animals, the local culture and the gustatory of conservation in the area. We were able to see the Borneo big 5 (orangutan, hornbill, Pygmy elephants, crocodile, proboscis monkey) and many other animals. We also did the Sepilok orangutan rehabilitation center and rainforest discovery center. Both were also good experiences. We had our teenage children with us and they loved the resort, searching for the animals, and all of the information Jimmy shared with them. The Sukau Rainforest Lodge is very comfortable and the meals were delicious. And, we enjoyed meeting other travelers staying at the lodge.

Oviera responded incredibly quickly to all our emails and answered all our queries to create such a special tour for us at the two lodges we most wanted to visit (Sakura Rainforest Lodge and Danum Valley Lodge) which were both spectacular. We lucked out with wildlife including Pygmy elephants and wild orangutans! All of our guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. Massive thank you for all your help Oviera!

Borneo Eco Tours provided us with the best possible experience in the Kinabatangan River area. They picked us up from our previous hotel, and at the end of the airport they dropped us off at the airport. The lodge itself was not only very beautiful, but also very well maintained. The staff was kind, helpful and welcoming. Our guide on most of the river cruises, Jimmy, did a fantastic job. He was very knowledgeable and he did a great job explaining everything about the Kinabatangan wildlife. I would definitely recommend going to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge with Borneo Eco Tours!

Borneo Eco Tours provided us with the best possible experience in the Kinabatangan River area. As part of a larger trip throughout Borneo we wanted to see breedingTurtles on Selingan island. I contacted Borneo Eco tours directly and they were responsive and I felt confident to book with them. The trip was amazing and the guide Johnathan was very knowledgable. Every effort was made for the Turtles well being and to limit any stress to them. The work on the island is amazing, so much so we adopted a Turtle which happen to lay 89 eggs that night!. We watched the eggs being laid and transfeŕred to the hatchery, a safe place away from predators. We also released some newly hat he'd Turtles to the sea.

From the beginning when we were researching options for Borneo, to our transfers, guided tours and stay at Sukau Rainforest lodge - we received excellent service. I was initially worried about two things (1) That this trip would be unsuitable for my young children (ages 2, 6, 6) and (2) kidnapping (no joke - the Aust. govt states that Sandakan is a risk!)... Both those concerns were immediately gone when we started the tour. And not once did I feel unsafe (for me nor my family).
the Staff @ Borneo Eco Tours go above and beyond to ensure you are safe and have a fantastic experience. The tour guides are passionate about conservation and the wildlife and natural surroundings. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to immerse themselves into the jungle, but without roughing it out! :)

Eco tours were friendly, efficient and extremely well run, from booking through to the tour. I can't rate them highly enough, all the guides were very knowledgeable and wanted us to see as much as possible. We did Turtle island, for the night and saw a turtle lay her eggs and we saw some babies being released. what a special place. I particularly liked how the animals were their priority but still they were trying to give us the chance to see as much as possible. We then went on to Sepilok, Oragutan sanctuary, the Sun bear sanctuary then on to the beautiful Sukau Rainforest lodge, and lots of river trips. We were lucky enough to see pretty much everything you can see. Well worth the money.
