Borneo Eco Tours provided us with the best possible experience in the Kinabatangan River area. They picked us up from our previous hotel, and at the end of the airport they dropped us off at the airport. The lodge itself was not only very beautiful, but also very well maintained. The staff was kind, helpful and welcoming. Our guide on most of the river cruises, Jimmy, did a fantastic job. He was very knowledgeable and he did a great job explaining everything about the Kinabatangan wildlife. I would definitely recommend going to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge with Borneo Eco Tours!

Borneo Eco Tours provided us with the best possible experience in the Kinabatangan River area. They picked us up from our previous hotel, and at the end of the airport they dropped us off at the airport. The lodge itself was not only very beautiful, but also very well maintained. As part of a larger trip throughout Borneo we wanted to see breedingTurtles on Selingan island. I contacted Borneo Eco tours directly and they were responsive and I felt confident to book with them. The trip was amazing and the guide Johnathan was very knowledgable. Every effort was made for the Turtles well being and to limit any stress to them. The work on the island is amazing, so much so we adopted a Turtle which happen to lay 89 eggs that night!. We watched the eggs being laid and transfeŕred to the hatchery, a safe place away from predators. We also released some newly hat he'd Turtles to the sea.

We loved it and definitely can only recommend it highly. Already planning our next visit to this beautiful country.

From the beginning when we were researching options for Borneo, to our transfers, guided tours and stay at Sukau Rainforest lodge - we received excellent service. I was initially worried about two things (1) That this trip would be unsuitable for my young children (ages 2, 6, 6) and (2) kidnapping (no joke - the Aust. govt states that Sandakan is a risk!)... Both those concerns were immediately gone when we started the tour. And not once did I feel unsafe (for me nor my family).
the Staff @ Borneo Eco Tours go above and beyond to ensure you are safe and have a fantastic experience. The tour guides are passionate about conservation and the wildlife and natural surroundings. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to immerse themselves into the jungle, but without roughing it out! :)

Eco tours were friendly, efficient and extremely well run, from booking through to the tour. I can't rate them highly enough, all the guides were very knowledgeable and wanted us to see as much as possible. We did Turtle island, for the night and saw a turtle lay her eggs and we saw some babies being released. what a special place. I particularly liked how the animals were their priority but still they were trying to give us the chance to see as much as possible. We then went on to Sepilok, Oragutan sanctuary, the Sun bear sanctuary then on to the beautiful Sukau Rainforest lodge, and lots of river trips. We were lucky enough to see pretty much everything you can see. Well worth the money.

His advice for the next morning also helped us see several more mothers completing the nesting process and returning to the ocean.

The River Safari at Sukau Rainforest Lodge was also incredible. There were orangutans, proboscis monkeys, and macaques in the trees around the lodge, allowing for intimate wildlife viewing. While not all the river cruises were amazing, they all offered different experiences, and our last sunset cruise was spectacular, with the aforementioned monkeys again, saltwater crocodiles, numerous hornbills and storks, as well as a near-sighting of a pygmy elephant (we saw the bushes along the river moving, but we never actually saw the elephant). The rooms are great, the villas are predictably even better, and there is more to do at the Lodge than you can possibly do with only a few hours of down time.

I was arranging my own flights from the UK and some time based on the coast in Kota Kinabalu but then looking for a travel company to arrange a tour for myself and family within Borneo. I'd already decided which activities we wanted to do and which lodges we wanted to visit (Borneo Rainforest Lodge and Sukau Rainforest Lodge) and Borneo Eco Tours were very flexible and responsive in sorting out a package (over email) which met my requirements as well as being good value compared to what UK tour operators wanted to charge. Pick-ups and drop-offs were always punctual, rooms and activities at the lodges as described and transfers comfortable. Their coaches/minbuses were equipped with WIFI and water and the larger vehicles had charging facilities. Many of the higher end tour operators seem to use them but as long as you're happy to do some of the basics yourself like booking your own international/internal flights then you can get Borneo Eco Tours great service whilst in Borneo but save yourself quite a bit of cash.
Would definitely recommend and use Borneo Eco Tours myself again if visiting Sabah.
