From the hotel pick up to the final farewell, our experience was overwhelming positive. Communication from the time of booking was excellent. The Sukau Rainforest Lodge was so beautiful and the villas were gorgeous. All the staff were incredibly friendly and delightful. We saw amazing wildlife, and the guide was so knowledgeable and clever at spotting the various birds, monkeys, even a crocodile on the night boat trip. We had an orang utan in the tree just above our villa one morning - it was really an unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend the Kinabatagan river safari.

From start to finish, this company provided excellent service and therefore, our tour was amazing. Audrey patiently answered all my pre-tour questions and our tour went exactly to plan. Vincent our guide was brilliant; he was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We opted for their 4 day 3 night tour which involved a pick up from our hotel in Sepilok, a boat trip to Seligan Island with an overnight stay (the highlight of our whole holiday in Borneo), visits to the Orangutan and Sun Bear sanctuaries, a boat trip along the Kinabatangan river to Sukau Lodge for some river safaris and a boat trip back to Sandakan. We could have taken a final trip to the Rainforest Discovery Centre, but we opted to set off earlier by private taxi to our next destination, Poring Hit Springs and Mt Kinabalu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7N6D trip to Sabah. Everything was very well organised. Our guides Adrian (Kota Kinabalu) and Asling (Sandakan) were amazing, spoke excellent English and were very informative. The tour was very varied, from snorkelling on tropical islands to seeing Mt Kinabalu to lots of wildlife adventures. Turtle island was so interesting, as was our stay in Sukau lodge where we saw lots of wildlife. I love that this company also gives back to the community and environment, both financially and by providing jobs to local villages around Sukau.

From beginning to end Borneo Eco Tours provided 5 star service. Their communication through the booking phase was prompt and professional and the organisation of the tour itself was first class. We booked a 4D3N tour which included a trip to Selingan Island to see the turtles lay their eggs as well as seeing the baby turtles being released into the see. A magical experience. We then visited the Orangutan Sanctuary and Sun Bear Conservation Centre in Sepilok before taking a boat up the Kinabatangan River and spending two nights at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. We went on evening and early morning boat rides up and down the rive to see all manor of wildlife including orangutans, proboscis moneys, short and long tail macaques, crocodiles and a number of different types of hornbills. The trip was made even more enjoyable by our guide, Jonathan. He was extremely knowledgeable and always smiling. He kept us fully informed about what was going to happen throughout the trip and we never felt unsure about what was going on or where we needed to be. He was extremely personable and very interested to find out about us and why we wanted to travel to Borneo. Such a fantastic and memorable experience and wonderful to know that the money made from the tour is re-invested by Borneo Eco Tours' charitable arm to help improve the environment in Borneo and sustain the rainforests and natural habitat for all of the country's wildlife. I wish we could have spent longer at Sukau lodge and would definitely go back, especially if we could get Jonathan as our guide.

Absolutely perfect. Oviera made the booking process so smooth and stress-free. Our guide, Marty went above and beyond to share knowledge and ensure we had an amazing trip. To top it all off, we saw the Borneo Big 5. I cannot recommend Borneo Eco Tours and Sukau Rainforest Lodge highly enough.

Beautiful from start to finish. We did the 4 days 3 night tour with boat transfer to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. We had a bit of a hiccup at the start as we didn’t get an email from them confirming pick up time etc. I tried calling and emailing but no answer cause it was the weekend. I trawled through my old emails and thought it was 9am. When we left to go to the ATM at 8:15 the bus was already waiting. Which meant we skipped breakfast and left in a flap. All the others on the tour seemed to have clear pick up instructions so this must have just fallen through the cracks. Apart from this it was a flawless experience. The staff took care of everything. We started with the Orangutang and Sunbear Sanctuaries and went to town for a buffet lunch. Then we were divided into our tour groups and popped on the boat. We hit a storm on our cruise up the river. It was intense. Definitely bring a rain jacket. Once we got to the lodge it was so so beautiful. We saw an Orangutang in our very first hour as sometimes they pass through the lodge area. The rest of the time mostly consisted of doing boat tours of the river. They do early morning cruises and it’s well worth the 5:30pm wake up. We did the add on elephant tour which cost about $120aud per person and was a four hour boat ride in the peak heat and no stops for bathroom. We ummed and ahhed as to if we should do it and I’m so glad we did. We got quite close to the Elephants and their babies who were swimming in the river, we saw about 15-20. Food was buffet style and quite tasty. The rooms were clean and sizeable.

The guides Vincent at Sukau and Farah at BRL were amazing and impressive with their knowledge and abilities to spot and identify many species of wildlife. Borneo EcoTours were very accommodating with customizing my trip by adding on a trip to Turtle Island at the front end and a snorkel trip at the back end. I highly recommend this company for all things Borneo!
