
Borneo Eco Tours is elated to be named as the winner of the Sabah Tourism Awards 2009 in the Best Inbound Tour Operator category. Founder and Managing Director of Borneo Eco Tours, Mr. Albert Teo accepted the award at a gala dinner hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah at a leading resort in Kota Kinabalu on 21st November 2009. He thanked the staff of Borneo Eco Tours and its group of companies for their concerted efforts and support that make this company a prolific contributor not just in tourism industry but in the area of conservation and community development.
Borneo Eco Tours’ achievement in Sabah Tourism Awards dated back since the 1990’s. The company emerged winner in similar category in 1997 and more recently, won the Best Tour Package through 3D/2N Kinabatangan Wildlife Safari in 2007. Sukau Rainforest Lodge, our eco lodge in Lower Kinabatangan was also named as the finalist in ‘Excellence in Hotel Services – Nature Lodge’ category this year. Earlier in September 2009, the lodge was again in the limelight when it was shortlisted as the finalist in the 16th World Travel Awards 2009 – World’s Leading Eco-Lodges and Asia’s Leading Green Hotel for the second consecutive year.
