RTA SEA 2024 is a testament to Sukau Rainforest Lodge’s dedication to responsible tourism, marking it as a leader in promoting environmental stewardship and community engagement within the tourism industry for almost 30 years. The award ceremony was held on 9th August 2024 during the International Conference on Responsible Tourism and Hospitality 2024 (ICRTH 2024), at the Theatre Hotel Kuching in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Present at the event to receive the award was Albert Teo, Managing Director and Founder of Sukau Rainforest Lodge and tour operator Borneo Eco Tours.

Datuk Sebastian Ting, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak gave his congratulatory words during the award ceremony. Present at the event was also Prof. Dr. Harold Goodwin, Director of Responsible Tourism Partnership, United Kingdom, who gave his concluding remarks at ICRTH 2024.

ICRTH 2024 provides an ideal platform to showcase Sukau Rainforest Lodge’s achievements in responsible tourism and to inspire others in the industry to follow suit. It aims to advance the discourse on responsible tourism for sustainable development.
