Recently, the Sabah Tourism Board unveiled its latest Sabah Birding Routes map guide at the 2024 Global Birdfair held at Rutland, United Kingdom from July 12th to 14th. The map guide is crafted to enrich the birdwatching experience across the state of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. Developed in collaboration with the Sabah Birdwatchers Association, this guide is set to elevate the exploration of Sabah’s rich avifauna to new heights.
At the forefront of this initiative is Ron Pudin, President of the Sabah Birdwatchers Association. The newly launched Sabah Birding Routes map guide serves as an essential resource for birdwatchers, from montane birds of the highlands to the diverse birdlife of lowland rainforests, the guide covers a wide array of habitats, ensuring birdwatchers can make the most of their visit.
Among the highlighted locations in this birding guide are two distinguished lodges: Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Utan Rainforest Lodge. Each of these destinations offers a unique gateway into Sabah’s diverse birdlife, promising unforgettable experiences for birdwatchers.
